Thank You

Thank you.

Thank you for attending our rallies, marches and whistle stops. Thank you for volunteering at the Command Centre and in your constituency. Thank you for your kind words of support. Thank you for your prayers. And, thank you for your votes.

We are humbled to have received this mandate from you to keep our country moving on the right track and headed in the right direction.

Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart.

To the Honorable , Honorable , Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer, congratulations to you and the entire UPP team on winning a second team. Continue to be the change you want to see in Antigua. In the words of 'Mahatma Gandhi'

"The Seven Deadly Sins. Wealth
without work, pleasure without
conscience, knowledge without
character, commerce without
morality, science without humanity,
worship without sacrifice,
and politics without principle.

It is time for justice for Antigua and Barbuda

I know that the people made the right decision, but we have many areas for improvement. Crime, Immigration, Health care and Civil works require attention.

The Electoral Commission debacle should be addressed and firm action taken. Our process should not be decided by those who are not entitled to be here and a process as critical as an election should not be hampered by imcompetence.

Antigua requires uplifting and I believe the UPP can do it.

Mr. Honourable Prime Minister, THANK YOU!
May God strengthen and protect you and the members of your party
to continue the good works in Antigua. May God bless you.

Congrats to you and your team Mr Spencer. It was a hard battle i tell you as a proud UPP supporter. However the race for regaining our native land is not over we need to continue on that trend. Moreover we need to tighten our belts and pull up on the loose ends, in that we need to implement a zero tolerance society. Finally to conclude i would love Errol Cort to regain his portfolio, i tell u he is a good man for finance, i am not in his constituency but saddened that he lost to Lester. Again congrats to the UPP team, Lets Move Forward

I know we won the election but its not time to get comfortable. We must address the issue of non-nationals in the country who have no right to be here

Your Excellency, The Honorable Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer, congratulations and may GOD's blessings continue to be showered upon you, your family and the NATION of Antigua and Barbuda.
God has a way of sending help to a people in distress. To some He sends Prophets, to others He sends Messengers and yet to even others He sends Leaders with Visionary Insight. You are such a ONE as that in theses perilous times. As the calypsonion so rightfully says in his lyrics:
"You are a BORN LEADER"!!!
We Love you.
To GOD Be The GLORY!!
Sonnie

Congratulations to Mr. Spencer and the UPP team for another five years in
government. It was a hard battle, but good will always overcome evil. So as we
look to the future, i encourage you to keep focused and pray to GOD everyday.
I will always hold you all in my prayers.

Congrats to the UPP Government. I hope the Government will rethink who can vote in the election. In the rest of the world you have to be a citizen of that country to vote in the election. I hope the laws will be changed. Only citizen should have the right to determine the leadership of their country, they have a vested interest.

I am so elated for the United Progressive Party!! They thought they had us!! They don't. Congratulations!!

Congratulations to the UPP Team! But most of all, congratulations to Antigua and Barbuda for allowing common sense to prevail in the ballot box. You have done a great work so far and I salute you for it. However, although I have supported UPP in the last two elections, I would hate for you to rest on your laurels and fall into complacency. The road ahead is a long and winding one; but persevere, and you will get there.

I want justice to reign in Antigua and Barbuda. YOU MUST BRING LESTER BIRD AND HIS CRONIES TO ACCOUNT!!! You ran a good marketing campaign inferring that this would be the case. If you look long and hard enough, you will find a plethora sleaze connected to the ALP, for example one website with a historical overview of Antigua and Barbuda stated:
“...law enforcement officials have charged that Antigua and Barbuda is a major center of money laundering, drug trafficking, and arms smuggling. Several scandals tainted the Bird family, especially the 1995 conviction of Prime Minister Lester Bird's brother, Ivor, for cocaine smuggling.”
(Source: http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0107284.html)

If Lester Bird and company are not brought to justice, I will lose confidence in this party and withdraw my support, (and I know that there are many others who are of the same opinion).

Finally, I notice the God has played a prominent role in your campaign (with Gospel concerts, Thanks-giving services etc). That’s definitely a good thing! Last week, Baldwin Spencer was applauded for reading from the Bible, “he who has clean hands and a pure heart will ascend to the hills”, which of course is a true statement. I hope this wasn’t just spin or hype. Please make sure you all keep yourselves that way, because the Bible also tells us not to be deceived because God is not mocked, and we reap what we sow.

Let’s continue to move forward ever, backwards never on the right track in the right direction!

Congrats to the UPP Government. Now that the election is over I hope the government will rethink its policy of who can vote in the elections of Antigua and Barbuda. No where in the world does anyone who is not is citizen can vote. In the US if you are not a naturalize citizen and you vote you will be deported for violating the law.

To you Sir, the youth of this nation say THANK YOU. We have come a long way with the help of God, and we pray that he will continue to guide our paths.

I am happy. I campaign, I voted and now I am celebrating. I anticipating only greater things for the UPP government. Keep focus...keep on the track. We can only go forward and we will do it together. Proud to be an Antiguan.

Auricia

To the honorable Prime Minister Mr. Baldwin Spencer congratulatiom to you and the entire upp team on winning a second time and its coming from all the upp people at the st. johns city . lift your head up because you are the best..

Congratulations to the UPP government for prevailing! The important thing is that you have been given a mandate to continue the things you started...

Antigua has seen great infrastructural changes under the UPP and will continue to do so. I know many people are unhappy with paying taxes but if you don't pay taxes, where do you expect the government to get the income to fix roads, implement initiatives etc.?

Dr. Cort, you fought valiantly. Colin Derrick, Lenworth Johnson, Bertrand Joseph, Winston Williams, Joanne Massiah and Elmore Charles - you have nothing to be ashamed of.

The Electoral Commission needs to review how it handle things. Opening the polls 4, 5 and 6 hours late is not acceptable and I am sure some people were disenfranchised. I am an Election Judge here in the USA and the night before each election we go to our respective polling places to set up and prepare for the next day. This gives us an opportunity to detect potential problems and address them.

UPP also needs to make changes. There are people in certain positions who do not need to be there. Their sole objective is to work contrary to the government.

It's time to get tough! No more big umbrella! WAKE UP!

Congratulations to the Honourable Prime Minister Mr. Spencer of the UPP and his team for winning another term to govern our beautiful little Nation. God works in mysterious ways! This affords you the opportunity to continue from where you left off. May he continue to guide and protect you and the other members of your party.

A very hearty congratulations to you, our Honourable Prime minister and the UPP for regaining the trust and mandate of all nationalistic individuals. Although I am saddened by the loss of some of our ministers, I am still firmly convinced that God is in control and on your side and come next election day - the Alp a go fade away, dem a go done away when UPP WIN AGAIN.

God's richest blessings

A very hearty congratulations to you, our Honourable Prime minister and the UPP for regaining the trust and mandate of all nationalistic individuals. Much congratulations are extended to you our Honourable humble Prime Minister and the UPP. Although I am deeply saddened by the loss of some of our ministers, I still firmly believe that God is in control and on your side. Keep trusting Him and putting Him first. This was only a test and come next election day, the Alp a go fade away dem a go done away when UPP WIN AGAIN.

May God's richest blessings be upon us all.

Congrats to the Hon. Baldwin Spencer and his team. Now is the time to review and implement major changes in the Immigration Department and Electoral Office. A review of the Constitution is also necessary - only citizens should vote in an election and strict requirements for citizenship should be put in place.

ALP operatives should be relocated from thier current posts if they attempt to obstruct the programs and policies of the Government. God's guidance for a successful second term. You have my support and that of my family.

TO MISS P IS TIME U WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE PPL FROM ANTIGUA ARE NON -NATIONALS IN OTHER PPL COUNTRY AND NO ONE DISCRIMINATE AGAINST THEM .I WAS BORN IN ANTIGUA BUT I LIVE IN THE US AND NO ONE HERE EVER TELL ME GO BACK WHERE I COME FROM U GUYS NEED TO START LIVING IN LOVE AND UNITY .THIS IS NOT A BLACK OR WHITE MAN WORLD ITS FOR ALL OF US.ANYWAY CONGRATS TO MR PRIME MINISTER .

At last Antiguans have given another party the chance to really make some change in the politics of this country. We ALL KNEW ONE TERM COULD NEVER DO IT. I am so proud of the Prime Minister and his team.

My heart aches for Dr. Cort. How can rational thinking people vote for Lester Bird?

This election has left me determined to play a role in the governance of this country. We must all become involved if we really want to see positive changes take place.

Congratulations to the UPP on your win, and may GOD bless you all, continue to do your good work ONE LOVE

Congrads 222 da UPP Government in the sunshine!!! My future in this country looks exceptionally bright!!cnt wait 4 da next 5 years when i will finally have the oppurtunity to make my voice be heard an keep this party in Governnment!!!! The future looks good!!! We have $$$ in our banks and those crooks dnt hve the chance 22 steal it from us once again(well atleast some of them wont)!!! So on behalf of the youths in this country----Thank You~~~P.S pms School sell off~~~!!!

Congratulations Mr. Prime Minister, God has answered our prayers once again. This election was a wake up call. Only CITIZENS should decide our government. Please that should be priority number 1 and Justice must be done. But for now, let us celebrate and thank God for his mercies.

Peace and Blessing be upon you and your family.

We Love You PM Spencer

To the UPP team i want to congratulate you on your win but as you I both know we really need some improvement crime is the # 1 improvement, and just a word of advise do not wait until last minute rather when its close to election to visit your people am begging you all to keep this in mind this plaus a stron part congrats once again.

Congrats to the UPP and you as the leader...it is well deserving for you and your team. I came to this island 4 years ago to work with an organisation on this island nation, and I could see the changes happened in this nation in last 4 years. There was a big change taken place in terms of development. But Antigua has to go long and achieve much more things. Crime prevention should be your major focus, upliftment of women in the society by educating them, improvement of IT facilities, more advanced transporting system, clear immigration policies, reducing the life expenses etc should be taken care. Please also understand that UPP won 10 seats.....out of that Barbuda by 1 vote and Rural North by 125 votes...that means 126 votes gave UPP 2 more seats. This time opposition is stronger also. I wish you and UPP all the success in coming years and trust you that UPP will do much much better........

Congratualtions to the UPP on winning the election. You have been given a second term to continue to work in the interet of all the people. The Government needs to seriously address the immigration policies in Antigua and Barbuda thus not allowing persons who are not living here legally to have such a huge effect on the next general elections as was the case of the recent elections.

My comment will be short it was good to see that we are back for a next term but we have to work on our area we often get busy when we are in power we need to stop that instead of driving throught the village it would be good to take a walk through it we would see alot of things to be done just remember it is the people vote that makes one win an we need to put them first .

Congrats!!! Congrats!!! Congrats!!!!

Congratulation to the Prime Minister, Baldwin Spencer and the rest of the UPP team. Knew we would win but by how much i dont know. Deeply saddened by what went on in Rural East and Rural South. Keep your heads up guys. UPP won. Need to do something about the non-nationals especially the Jamaicans and the Guyanese . We've got to pass a law prohibitting the non-nationals from voting.

Congrats!!! Congrats!!! Congrats!!!!

As Onyan said: "Stand up for A-N-T-I-G-U-A Antigua. A Yah Me Born!!!!!".........Non-nationals as well as Antiguans need to wake up. Who in their right mind could put Lester Bird, Asot Micheal, Steadroy Benjamin back in parliament when they know the facts. The government needs to stamp down on their various departments which are still being controlled by the corrupt persons.

Peaches
No one is trying to discriminate against non nationals but we have a serious Immigration problem in Antigua and if you lived here you would know. I stood in line for 9 hours and people who were barely living here for 3 years stood with me and out numbered Antiguans and voted ALP. We were disrespected in the line as we waited to vote and taunted about how ALP will win again. Non National come here and because of their poor conditions in Jamaica & Guyana they are susceptible to bribes and SELL their votes to the highest bidder. Antigua is for Antiguans and we will not sit down and have our futures dictated by non-nationals.
When you are ready to return and defend Antigua you can talk until then just continue drinking your coffee in the US and leave us to manage our country!!

Balwin...it's time to get some balls...we cannot sit around and have foreigners take over the country.....I hope this is your wake up call to stop playing nice to everyone. The sooner charges are brought against the corrupt ones the faster we will be able to fix things.

antiguan 1st , upp supporter distant 2nd.

congrats to u mr prime minister on your victory am a strong upp supporter keep your head up god is with u and your family dont give up we are all praying for u with lots of love upp for life

Congratulations to the Honorable Baldwin Spencer.

We have witnessed the triumph of good over evil, of light over darkness.

It's now time to revamp our IMMIGRATION LAWS.

Congrats to the UPP Team. St. Phillip's South checking in..........We did our best, but I guess our best wasn't good enough. PM, we did work hard, but not enough to outshine the dollars of the ASSLOTS and the BIRRRDS and the GLASSTONS. Well God did us some justice. He brought them closer for us to have an eye on them when we are ready to send them to 1735. The 7 gangster are now under oue watchful eyes and no plane tickets to hide them. When their number comes up..........the are in the HOUSE. Congrats again. WE HAB THEM AGAIN.

JMEW

WE HAVE THEM AGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIN

I am an Antiguan and it is about time we stand up. I can not see how the non-nationials come here and do as they like and we put up with it. We need to wake up and smell the coffee. TO the Honourable Prime Minister I hope this not a easy walk in the Park. Because we are watching you. They need to be gailed.

Congratulation on your second term in office, it shouldn't be bussiness as usual.
You need to drop the Hammer now more than ever, to get the message across that things wont be the same , we the people who put you there, will be right behind you , so that justic can be serve.

UPP all tthe way , we dont want no red devils
Love you Mr. Balwin Spencer

Heartfelt congratulations to PM Spencer and his team and closer to home, Dr. Quinn-Leandro, on behalf of our family.

We are deeply saddened by the unfortunate loss of votes for Dr. Cort and Mr. Williams in particular. Those two men have worked hard and it's really difficult to accept that the citizens and residents within their respective constituency could not associate.

Nonetheless, remember, in all things give thanks to God. We believe that it's divine intervension that got UPP a next five years, not us the people - and if God brought the UPP to it, He'll certainly bring the UPP through it.

Continue to stand for what is right and keep God in all of your plans and activities.

Blessings!!!

It is unfortunate how all non-nationals from Jamaica and Guyana can be characterised/classified the same as those who without shame behave the way they do. Weather people believe it or not, all non-nationals are not the same and some do have good values. I am 100% Guyanese and i too was happy for the UPP Gov. I will simply say to those who plan to target all Jamaicans and Guyanese: "May the Lord continue to bless and keep you."

Congratulations to the UPP Government on being re-elected for a second term.

However, if we are to have any hope of being re-elected for a third term, playing Mr. Nice Guy can not work.

Changes need to made immediately to our immigration polices and laws allowing non-nationals to participate in our General Elections. Non-nationals should not be allowed to vote in Antigua's election without first acquiring citizenship. To qualify for citizenship non-national should reside in Antigua a minimum of 10 yrs contributing economically and investing in our country. No new non-nationals should be allowed into Antigua, and those who are here illegally and working without work permits should be deported immediately.

The UPP Government also needs to make constituencies that have supported their government over the years a priority. The road work program, school meals program, installation of street lights and other infrastructural and social development should be completed in constituencies such as St.Mary's South, All Saints West, All Saints East and St.Lukes and St.Georges IMMEDIATELY.

It can not be business as usual. Antigua for Antiguans

I want to celebrate our win while morning the lost of two of our hardest working ministers in the UPP government. Winston Williams has done it all. It seem the only thing Winston forgot to do was to donate a Kidney to someone in his community. We love you Winston.
Gaston Brown was appauled at the fact that we gave up the best finiance minister, this country has ever seen.
Dr. Cort please dont give up on us in Rural East, we and the country love you and what you have done for us. For our past, present and our future.
Thank you Dr. Cort.

Congratulations, my Honorable Prime Minister, and to your team. Antigua is happy today because of your fight for our future in which you were victorious. Remember, big tent idea is now history, and I want to tell Mr Winston Williams, I was very angry that you lost, however, i want you to know that a certain group HOURANI were as much a part of your loss as they indeed helped to sabotage you, for they are a Trojan horse for the H's.

Please keep your wits about you guys and work in the interest of Antigua and Barbuda.
We love you all....!

Congratulations to our Government under Baldwin Spencer and to his team of ministers. Our country is grateful and thankful for your continued governance.

Congratulation to the UPP Team especially Dr. Cort keep the faith my brother and God will see you through. Praying for you all.

Nevis extends hearty congratulations to PM Spencer and his Cabinet for recapturing the Seat of Power in Antigua. Indeed, the NRP and the UPP seems to have many things in common. You need to get a hold of one of the NRP Calypso by King Ginger - "No More Mr. Nice Guy For Me." Maybe that would shake up PM Spencer toughness. I can't say it worked here for NRP supporters.

Notable, Parry and Spencer are perfect gentlemen, whereas politicianss are made of tougher stuff. Aside, they need the support of their supporters despite their niceness in response to the civil service sabbotage and ALP and CCM activitists and hierarchy crass and indecent attacks their experiencing from their advasaries in bitter opposition.

Compliments again to PM Spencer and his team as he seek to tighten up on things under his watch.

Nevisian observer

Congratulations to the United Progressive Party for its victory at the polls! May God continue to bless you as you continue the "work in progress" in Antigua and Barbuda. This herculean task you have spearheaded of "Defending the Nation" is not to be underestimated. The evidence of our inability to play "gutter politics" against the masters of the craft - the ALP - is evident given the results of the elections! I concur with all those individuals who say that the "BIG TENT IS HISTORY!" We, the true nationals of Antigua & Barbuda, who see and put "country" before "self" expect you MR. PM to consider the following:-
Immigration reform
Addressing the debacle of the Electoral Office
ALP operatives still occupying key positions in Govt. and undermining the process.
Citizenship issues to include non-nationals voting after only 3 years in this country, deciding an indigenous people's future.

Once again, God bless you, UPP and God bless Antigua & Barbuda

Dear Prime Minister,

I worry that you do not understand the magnitude of the situation evident in Antigua. Action needs to be taken now in regards to deporting illegal immigrants. Everyday I see non-nationals in groups discussing how much they hate you, the UPP government and UPP supporters. You also need to close our borders now. Until Antiguans can go and live and work in other Caribbean territories freely, we need to become stricter in our treatment of non-nationals. Antiguans can not just go and start working in Guyana, Jamaica or Hispaniola. We can not even buy Land there. Take a page out of Barbados book. In that country Guyanese are not welcomed and everybody knows it. There country has not suffered because of their immigration policies, has it?

You need to also deal with members’ of the ALP who have been found guilty of committing many crimes. I can not understand how people such as Cutie Benjamin, Gaston Browne, Lester Bird and Asot Michael are still walking around Antigua free. People are getting fed up of this double standard, where a normal Antiguan commuting these crimes would have been locked up long time ago. Please remember that if ALP ever gets back into power they are not going to waste any time in locking you up, and throwing away the key.

Finally, you need to put business men such as Aziz Hadeed in their place. You are the big man on campus. You are our Prime Minister. Act like it.

Get tough and protect Antigua. Listen to what your real supporters want from our government.

Hello Peaches. In Antigua, we have no problem with non-nationals or in other words, Non-Citizens. I and many others in Antigua feel that in order to vote, you mus be a citizen, period! If you are born in Antigua, then you are Antiguan by birth. Alternatively, a non-national may come to Antigua and and by right, if they are law abiding, and have fulfilled their required time and permits etc, if applicable can apply for citizenship through naturalization. Then that person would also be qualified to vote as all born YAH people can also with no difference.

Simply put, we as citizens are demanding that ONLY CITIZENS HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE, PERIOD! My family migrated to Antigua over 36 years ago from another Island. I was born here and my child is also born here. So by birth, I am Antiguan, and equally, my mother living here since then, applied for citizenship according to law and hence is now an Antiguan. The point is, regardless of where one comes from, they can be here for 3 months, 5 years or 30 years, if you don't go through the process and naturalize, then you should not have the right to vote, as this crucial right should be reserved for Citizens only.

I am also of the view, that Antigua should tighten its borders and close this loop of infinite immigration. We cannot absorb without major consequences limitless migrants from all over. I also believe that we need to stop issuing renewals of time. Anyone who comes to the country should leave and not have the hope of staying and hanging on. Jobs should be secured for Antiguans. We also have a long history with Montserrat and Dominica as well as ST.Kitts and Nevis. These, are our immediate concerns, as they are also small and share many of our concerns and should also be given always first preferences over others. I fear, however, that with migrants from those big countries, the face of Antigua will change for the worse in less than 10 years, if we don't keep control of our borders and secure them. And those ANTIGUANS who use non-citizens for their political games and encourage them to bash other citizens, should be held accountable for treason to our NATION. My child's future is not for sale and SO IS THE FUTURE OF ALL OUR ANTIGUAN CHILDREN.....Think about it....I also don't support CSME. Small islands won't get any benefits..it is all a SHAM...We will eventually get flooded with criminality and foreign influences fighting to carve us up....

First and foremost I do not see how posters like Peaches would want to compare the U.S to Antigua. These are two completely different places and I am not referring to size.

GroverAntigua, you have made some very valuable and sensible points and I would hope that people, when reading, really think about what they are reading and make sense of it. Antigua is only 108 square miles and many of us have no where to go or turn to when all is gone to the dogs, per say. We have to protect what is ours and those outside need to respect that. Yes, they may be human just like me but I cant go to many of these places and just pick up resident like that.

To get employment in places like Barbados you have to literally bend over backwards. In the U.s you better pick up a broom and mop if you want to have bread to eat. There is no way i can go to some of these places as a non-national and sit behind a desk and call the shots.

I am not hating here. Its just that I believe where elections is concerned in choosing a Government for our country it should be left to Antiguans and Antiguans alone. I would not want to go to Jamaica and decide Jamaicans fate and so on and so on. I too is also of the view that the Immigration situation in my country needs to be looked into with a fine comb teeth.

I went to St. John's the other day and if i'm not mistaken a black Antiguan does not own a business on the main street of St. John's which is Market Street (I stand to be corrected) and if there is one, you would have to look for it like a needle in a hay-stack. If I am correct it goes to show the seriousness of the situation. Our borders need to be locked completely, at least for the next 10 yrs. for Antigua to return to being Antigua. Only how it should be open is to LET OUT those that are already here. ENOUGH SAID!!!

Let me take this Opportunity to wish Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer and the UPP Administration a hearty congratulations in reatining governance in Antigua and Barbuda. Please make us proud for Antigua is ours and ours alone.

Let me say first of all that I am extremely conservative when it comes to immigration policies in Antigua. I think we should rip a page or two from Barbuda and see how they handle immigration issues.
I prefer to be blunt and spit the marbles out of my mouth so everyone can understand what I am saying. I think citizenship should only be allowed after 10 years of living in, and contributing to Antigua and Barbuda's development. Taxes should be paid, proof of employment or evidence that you are not a burden on the government and citizens of Antigua and Barbuda. You should also be tested on the history, culture, politics, and constitution of Antigua and Barbuda. Finally, you should never be convicted of a crime.
Participation in the political process should be strictly reserved for CITIZENS only. It is ridiculous for anyone to be in the country for only three years and allowed to vote. THIS IS CRAZY. ENOUGH ALREADY. It is time to strengthen the spine with more steel. Its time to stand up for Antigua.
Do you think I could go to Jamaica or Guyana and engage in their political process the way their nationals do here? A FRESH START IS NEEDED, NOW IS THE TIME TO CORRECT WHAT'S WRONG with immigration.
