Improving education is a top priority for this government. And, that means improving education for all of our kids, including our special needs kids.
Today, the UPP Government sponsored a seminar to teach our teachers how to deal with special needs kids. Minister Jacqui Quinn-Leandro opened the session:
For too long, we have lumped every child into the same pot as one homogenous group, when they are actually a rich and diverse melange of varying abilities, strengths, weaknesses, intuitions and cognitions. The system as it has been over decades has failed too many, and this seminar is an attempt to begin to right that wrong.
The UPP Government is committed to educating ALL of our kids and we're proud to be the ones that took this giant step forward.
