St. Paul
Eleston M. Adams represents the constituency of St. Paul in the House of Representatives. Born and raised in Liberta Village, he attended primary school in Liberta and continued his education at the All Saints Secondary School from where he graduated, and following training as a teacher at the Antigua State College from where be began his teaching career. He taught for 20 years at schools across Antigua including Liberta, John Hughes, Sea View Farm and Cobbs Cross Primary.
Eleston, affectionately known as "Namba," is also a noted playwright, actor, director and producer. He received a scholarship to attend the Edna Manley School for the Performing Arts in Jamaica. He has written over 14 full length plays that have been performed to packed audiences in Antigua, Montserrat, St. Martin and St. Thomas. He has conducted theatre workshops in Antigua and Anguilla. He has also assisted a number of local artistes
An avid sportsman, Mr. Adams played cricket and football, representing Antigua at youth level competitions. He has served as a leader and manager for numerous cricket and football teams in Antigua. Most notably, he successfully managed the Antigua National Football Team. Mr. Adams also worked as a journalist where he distinguished himself as a top reporter at The Daily Observer.
In 2004, Adams was elected to serve the people of St. Paul. In Government, he works with the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Culture and the Environment with special responsibility for national and culture festivals.
Mr. Adams believes that Government, as well as each and every member of our community, plays an important role in the development of our society. He currently serves as an Ambassador for Peace through the Universal Peace Federation, where he has the opportunity to meet with leaders from around the world.
