MP Williams and PM Connect with the Lower Ottos Community

Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer joined St. John’s Rural South MP Winston Williams on a walk through in the lower Ottos community today.

As the PM made his way through the area, residents were exhilarated, and one could sense the personal connection they have with the man who has led the nation for the past five years.

“We are going house to house canvassing, endorsing the candidacy of Winston Williams for St Johns Rural South. We are trying to encourage the residents to support the candidacy of Winston and the United Progressive Party on Election Day. He has performed creditably and served the constituents well.” The Prime Minister said.

Williams door to door visit on Saturday is testament to the personal commitment he has established with residents in Ottos and the wider rural south constituency over the past five years.

Speaking to the media prior to the walkthrough Williams spoke optimistically about the work he has done in the community and the plans he has for the constituency; this includes the construction of the Niah Roberts Youth and Sports Empowerment Center at lower Ottos, establishment of two libraries, implementation of the Rural South Empowerment Program, as well as a community beautification programme.

Williams has also created the rural south employment database, which has assisted numerous constituents in obtaining meaningful jobs. Additionally the Rural South MP has also implemented the Rural South empowerment programme which offers clothing and textiles and craft classes.

More plans are in the pipeline for the St Johns Rural South community including the establishment of the Rural South Sports Club, and the completion of the Nut Grove Community center.

The concerns of residence in the community were also noted by the MP and Prime Minister during the visit.
