Families Of Students Studying Overseas Asked To Contact ABEC

The Antigua & Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) has been made aware that there are a significant number of students who are desirous to vote and who have made arrangements to travel to Antigua and Barbuda to vote in the upcoming general elections.

These students are all registered voters but have not yet collected their Elector Identification cards which are in the possession of the Registration Officers in the respective constituencies.

In order to ensure that these students can collect their voter ID cards prior to polling day, the Commission would like to ask all parents, siblings and/or friends of the students to fax us at 562-4331:

1. the names of the students
2. the constituencies in which they are registered

The Commission is particularly asking you to fax the information rather than telephone the information in that the telephone lines are all jammed with the abundance of calls that are being made on behalf of the electors to solicit the information which they require.

The Chairman of the Commission is also asking the media to carry this information as often as possible to ensure that the information reaches to those concerned.
